The Fanstel ST2118 is an analog phone usually paired with a BPA430 ATA adapter. It is no longer sold by 8x8.

 

Basic Phone Layout

Call Forwarding

NOTE: For the best control, it is recommended that all forwarding be set in Account Manager or the Virtual Office application rather than on the phone itself. If setting forwarding on the phone, be sure the rules do not conflict with anything previously set in Account Manager or Virtual Office, and will not cause a call loop.

To Set Forwarding Rule:

  1. Press [Set Frward].
  2. Enter the forwarding destination number.
    NOTE: For off-network numbers, dial [9] + long distance number. (Toll charges may apply during off-network forwarding just as normal off-network calls.)

To Cancel Forwarding:

Simply press [Cancel Frwrd].


Internet Outage Forward Quick Dial Sequence

To set or change your current forward on Internet outage handling rule from the quick dial sequence:

  1. Pick up handset or press [Speaker].
  2. Press [*][0][2][2].
  3. Enter the Internet outage forwarding destination. This can be an extension on the service such as 555 for voicemail, 444 for the auto attendant, 588 for one number access, or an extension or outside number. (An outside number requires dialing [9] before the 7- or 11-digit number for outside access.)

To completely remove all Internet outage call handling (all calls forwarded to voicemail):

  1. Pick up handset or press [Speaker].
  2. Press [*][0][3][2].

No Answer Forward Quick Dial Sequence

To set or change your current forward on no answer handling rule from the quick dial sequence:

  1. Pick up handset or press [Speaker].
  2. Press [*][0][2][2].
  3. Enter the forward on no answer handling destination. This can be an extension on the service such as 555 for voicemail, 444 for the auto attendant, 588 for one number access, or an extension or outside number. (An outside number requires dialing [9] before the 7- or 11-digit number for outside access.)

To completely remove all forward on no answer call handling (phone will ring until answered or caller hangs up):

  1. Pick up handset or press [Speaker].
  2. Press [*][0][3][2].

Call Park

Park calls

  1. While on call, press [Transfer].
  2. Dial the parked extension (system range: 601-605).
  3. Hang up.
    NOTE: Parked caller will hear music on hold. There is no indicator that show the call parked.

Pick up parked calls

  1. Press [More] > [Prk Pickup].
  2. Dial the parked extension number (system range: 601-605)

Call Return

To call back the last party that called, dial the call return feature code [*][69] and stay on the line to automatically call the last number that called your number.

Call Transfers

Cold Transfer

  1. While on call, press [Transfer] button.
  2. Dial extension or phone number of the party to whom you wish to transfer the call.
  3. Hang up. The recipient will get the caller ID from the transferred call. 

Warm Transfer

  1. While on call, press [Hold/New Call].
  2. Dial extension or phone number of the party to whom you wish to transfer the call. (At this point, transferring user can toggle between both parties with [Retrieve/Alternate] button.)
  3. Once connected to new party, communicate incoming transfer.
  4. To connect the parties, press [More] > [Join Parties].
  5. Hang up.

Transfer to Voicemail

  1. While on call, press [Flash][5][*].
  2. Dial extension of the party to whose voicemail box you wish to transfer the call.
  3. Hang up.

Transfer to Auto Attendant

  1. While on call, press [Transfer] button.
  2. Dial [4][4][4] (Auto Attendant extension).
  3. Hang up.​​

Call Waiting

Dial [*][70] before dialing to disable call waiting on a per-call basis. (Call waiting is enabled by default during every call unless disabled in this manner.)

Caller ID Blocking

You can block the caller ID on outbound calls on a per-call basis. This feature is OFF by default. If you turn it on, it can be turned off by either dialing [*][68] before dialing the phone number or simply hanging up and dialing the phone number again.

  • [*][67] turns Caller ID Blocking ON.
  • [*][68] (or hanging up) turns Caller ID Blocking OFF.

Conference Bridge

Set up conference

  1. Call in to the bridge (556 from on-network; provided number from off-network).
  2. To create a conference bridge, select [2]. (Extension and password rights required.)
  3. Enter extension + [#].
  4. Enter password + [#].
  5. Select from the following conference expiration options:
    • [1] Expires after 2 weeks.
    • [2] Non-expiring.
    • [3] Custom expiration. (Then set up manually following prompts.)
  6. Listen for confirmation playback of bridge passcode and and expiration.
  7. Confirmation email with relevant info will be sent to conference bridge initiator's email address. (This addresscan be modified.)

Call in to conference

  1. Call into conference bridge via one of the methods below:
  2. On-network: Call in to bridge and press [More] > [Conf Bridge].
  3. On-network: Dial extension 556.
  4. Off-network: Dial in to Auto Attendant, then dial 556.
  5. Off-network: Dial conference bridge DID.
  6. Enter the passcode + [#].
  7. If prompted, record name to be announced upon joining.

Conference (3-way) Calling

Call out and conference in 3rd party

  1. While on call, press [Conf] button.
  2. Dial the desired third party's number.
  3. When third party answers, conference will be in session.

Supervise a call

  1. While on call, press [Hold/New Call].
  2. Dial the desired third party's number.
  3. Once connected to new party, communicate reason for call.
  4. To connect the parties, press [More] > [Conf All 3].

Conference in inbound call while on a call

  1. To answer incoming call and place current call on hold, press [Retrieve/Alternate].
  2. To connect the parties, press [More] > [Conf All 3].

Drop last added party

While on conference call, simply press [Drop Conf].

Do Not Disturb (DND)

ON: Press [DND On]. A stuttered dial tone will indicate activation.

OFF: Press [DND Off].

Multiple Call Handling

While talking on the phone, a new call will be announced by an audio alert beep, and call waiting with the caller ID number will display on the phone.

Press the [Retrieve/Alternate] button to:

  1. Pick up the second ringing call, which will place the original caller on hold where they will hear music on hold.
  2. Alternate between two calls.
