How To: Register Handsets that Do Not Fit in the Base

To register an ELX500, TCX450, TCX440, or TCX400 handset, follow the steps below:



1) Disconnect the AC adapter from the main base.



2) While pressing down Find HS, reconnect the AC adapter.



3) On the handset, press and hold # until you hear a beep.



While the handset is registering, Handset Registering will appear in the LCD. When

Registration Complete is displayed, the handset has been registered to the base. If

Registration Failed appears, please try these steps again.

 

Registering and Deregistering Uniden Handsets

Registering Handsets for the 160P

To register TCX805, simply place it in the main base.

While the handset is registering, H a n d s e t R e g i s t e r i n g will appear in the LCD. When

R e g i s t r a t i o n c o m p l e t e . is displayed, the handset has been registered to the base. If

R e g i s t r a t i o n f a i l e d . appears, please try these steps again.

Deregistering Handsets for the 160P

You can deregister the handset's ID from the main base unit or the base ID from the handset. You will

usually only deregister the handset if you want to change the base you use it with, if you are having a

problem with your phone, or if you need to change the digital security code. The digital security code is

an identification code used to connect the handset and the base unit. Normally, setting the code is not

necessary. In the rare situation that you suspect another cordless telephone is using the same security

code, you can change the code by de-registering and reregistering all handsets.

1) In standby mode, press the MENU soft key and select Deregister HS. Then,

press the OK soft key. D e r e g i s t e r H S ? appears.

2) Press cid/vol/∧ or redial/p/vol/∨ to select Y e s and then the OK soft key.

When de-registration is complete you will hear a confirmation tone, and

D e r e g i s t r a t i o n C o m p l e t e appears.

3) After de-registering the handset, place the handset to the base to register. You must re-register the handset before you can use it.

To register TCX805 and TCX905 handsets

1) Make sure the base is in standby mode

2) Place the handset in the main base.

R e g i s t r a t i o n F a i l e d appears, please try these steps again.

De-register the Handset

Deregister the handset's ID from the main base unit or the base ID from the

handset. You will usually only deregister the handset if you are moving it from one

base to another, if you are having a problem with your phone or if you need to

change the digital security code. The digital security code is an identification code

used to connect the handset and the base unit. Normally, setting the code is not

necessary. In the rare situation that you suspect another cordless telephone is

using the same security code, you can change the code by de-registering and reregistering all handsets.

 

  1. With the phone in standby mode, press the MENU soft

    key on the handset and select Deregister HS. Then,

    press the OK soft key. D e r e g i s t e r H S ? appears.

    2) Press cid/vol/ or redial/p/vol/ to select Y e s and

    then the OK soft key.

    When de-registration is complete you will hear a confirmation tone, and

Registering Handsets for the 1868P

Handsets supplied with the phone are registered to the

base by the factory. When charged, pre-registered

handsets display a handset ID number. Handsets that have

not been registered display P l a c e h a n d s e t o n ma i n b as e t o

r e g i s t e r. When you register an extra handset to the base, the handset ID will be

assigned.



Before the expansion handset is registered, the battery pack MUST be charged for

15-20 hours.

To register expansion handsets, follow the steps below:

1) Make sure the main base is in standby mode.

2) On the base, press the MENU soft key, and then select HS Registration.

3) On the handset, press and hold # for two seconds. To cancel registration, press

the CANCEL soft key on the base.

4) While the handset is registering, H a n d s e t R e g i s t e r i n g will appear in the Handset

LCD. When R e g i s t r a t i o n C o m p l e t e is displayed, the handset has been registered

to the base. If R e g i s t r a t i o n F a i l e d appears, please try these steps again.

3) After de-registering the handset, you must re-register the handset before you can use it.

Handset Hard Resets

Hard Reset for Handset Uniden 160P



1. Remove the battery. 

2.  Press and hold both # (Pound) and * (star) button simultaneously. 

3. While holding those buttons, plug the battery in. 

4.  Release (#) and (*) buttons and press the right button under the

display (The right button out of the three buttons located under the

display) 

5.  The message "EEPROM CLEAR OK!" will be appeared on the screen. 

6.  Press the "talk" button. You'll be asked to place the handset on the

main base to register.

Registration:  Should auto register w/ main base after charging for 15-20hrs.  Otherwise for the base handset:



When trying to register the UIP165P handset with the base you may need to deregister it first.  Using the menu function on the handset and selecting Deregister HS won't work.  It gives an "Out of Range" error.



To deregister the UIP165P handset:

1. Press and hold the "End" button. 

2. Press and hold the "#" button immediately after pressing "End." 

3. Hold both buttons down for ~10 seconds. 

4. A message should appear indicating that the handset has been deregistered. 

5. Place handset on the base unit. 

6. After ~10 seconds the handset should display a message that it has registered.

1868 Uniden reset to defaults.

First unplug the Power Cord.

Then hold the Down Arrow and then Exit at the same time.

Then reconnect the Power Cord.
