Call Recordings in the 8x8 Voice for Teams App

Objective

Accessing call recordings and configuring your call recording options from the 8x8 Voice for Microsoft Teams app.

If your organization does not enable your access call recordings, you will not see the Call Recordings option in the 8x8 Voice for Teams app.

Note that your administrator must also have allowed your access to and/or have installed the 8x8 Voice for Teams app for you.

Procedure

Access Call Recordings

If your phone system administrator has allowed you to record all calls, then your calls will be recorded automatically. You can easily access and review them in Microsoft Teams using the 8x8 Voice for Teams app.

  1. In Microsoft Teams, click on the 8x8 icon at the left.
    • Sign in to the 8x8 app if needed:
      1. Click on Dashboard,
      2. Click Sign in via SSO.
      3. Enter your Microsoft user ID and click Continue.
      4. Click Login with Organization.
  2. From the left navigation menu within the 8x8 app, click Call Recordings.
  3. Scroll through the list of recordings or enter the phone number you are looking for in the Filter by number search bar.
  4. Hover your mouse cursor over a specific call to see and use the following options:
    • Play: Click the Play button clipboard_eda0fa1aef6abbfc5fdd5cd9c75b9ca08.png to immediately play your recording. Playback controls will appear in the right-hand panel.
    • Delete: Click the Delete button clipboard_ec8efde06e6538351770b11eefd429adb.png to select the recording for deletion. Select any other call recordings to delete, as needed. Then click Delete to confirm the deletion of your selected call recording(s).
    • Download: Click the Download button clipboard_e335a98364c3b4d5e2952f401265cb242.png and then click Continue at the popup prompt to download the recording.

Set Call Recording Preferences

If your phone system administrator has allowed you to view and set your call recording preferences, you can set your preferences within Microsoft Teams to either record all calls, or to disable call recording.

To set your call recording preferences:

  1. In Microsoft Teams, click on the 8x8 icon at the left.
  2. Click on Dashboard and log in if needed.
  3. From the left navigation menu within the 8x8 app, click Settings.
  4. Scroll down to Call recording settings.
  5. In Call recording mode, select one of the following two options:
    • Record all calls for this user
    • Never record calls for this user
Important-Icon.png Important: The option to Allow user to record calls selectively is currently not supported for 8x8 Voice for Teams users. If you select this option, you will not be able to record your calls.
  1. In Recording announcement, select one of the following menu options to announce to the involved parties that the call is being recorded:
    • Me / User
    • Remote party
    • Both parties
    • Neither
  2. Click Save.
