What are the user actions after enabling 8x8 Video Meetings?

Answer

This is dependent on the version of 8x8 Work Desktop and 8x8 Work Mobile installed. Please refer to the tables below. 

8x8 Work Desktop 

8x8 Work Desktop Version  8x8 Video Meetings Supported Behavior/user action needed after 8x8 Video Meetings is enabled
5.8 to 5.9  No  When trying to join/host a meeting “Meetings is no longer available” will be displayed.
6.0 to 6.2  No  The Meetings tab will no longer be available.
6.3  Yes Log out and log back in.
6.4+  Yes No action needed - 8x8 Video Meetings will automatically appear the next time they click on Meetings.

8x8 Work Mobile 

8x8 Work Mobile Version  8x8 Video Meetings Supported Behavior/user action needed after 8x8 Video Meetings is enabled
7.X and earlier with do not auto-update No  When trying to join/host a meeting “Meetings is no longer available” will be displayed.
8.0+ Yes No action needed - 8x8 Video Meetings will automatically appear the next time they click on Meetings.

What about the desktop calendar integration?

8x8’s calendar integration will continue to work with 8x8 Video Meetings. It is recommended to reload the calendar application or web pages to ensure the calendar add-in or extension is updated.
