Enabling and Disabling SRTP in Admin Console
Objective
Enable or disable SRTP in 8x8 Admin Console.
Important: This process also enables/disables encryption of signaling, SIP over TLS (Transport Layer Security).

Procedure
Enabling SRTP
- Log in to Admin Console.
- Click Users.
- To the right of the user for whom you want to enable SRTP for, click the Edit (pencil icon).
- Go to Voice basic settings.
- Turn on Enable Secure Real-time Protocol.
- The phone will reboot. Once it has finished rebooting, SRTP will be enabled.
- To check if SRTP is enabled, place a call from the SRTP-enabled extension and a little lock icon will display on the screen of the phone.
Disabling SRTP
- Log in to Admin Console.
- Click Users.
- To the right of the user for whom you want to disable SRTP for, click the Edit (pencil icon).
- Go to Voice basic settings.
- Turn off Enable Secure Real-time Protocol.
- Note: If there is no activated device associated with this user, the option to enable or disable SRTP will not be available.
