How to Set Up Ring Group Voicemail in 8x8 Admin Console

To set up your Ring Group voicemail in 8x8 Admin Console.

You can configure your voicemail settings in 8x8 Admin Console as an admin and via your phone as an end user. Users will need to know the voicemail password to access the Ring Group voicemail.

As an Admin

Set Up Ring Group Voicemail

  1. Log in to 8x8 Admin Console.
  2. Click Ring Groups.
  3. To the right of the desired ring group, click Edit (pencil icon).
  4. Select which users can access the voicemail for this Ring Group. Members added to the group will automatically have voicemail access.
    • For individual members: Click More Options (three dots) to the right of the desired user.
    • For all members: Check the box to select all the ring group members, then click More Options at the top of the list of members.
  5. Select Enable Voicemail Access. Users with voicemail access enabled should have a Voicemail symbol next to their name.
  6. Under Voicemail, enter and confirm a password for the Ring Group voicemail. (If you have already set this up but have forgotten the password, click Reset Password.) Your password should be a string of numbers that do not repeat and are non-sequential.
  7. Click Save. Once your voicemail password has been set (or changed), all Ring Group members enabled for voicemail access will receive an email with the new password.

Manage Ring Group Voicemail

  1. Log in to 8x8 Admin Console.
  2. Click Ring Groups
  3. To the right of the desired ring group, click Edit (pencil icon).
  4. Click Voicemail Settings on the left panel.
  5. Select which greeting you want to edit.

  6. Click Change.
  7. Click on the appropriate link to:
    • Upload an audio file 
    • Call a phone number to record.

Additional Information

Notification emails for Ring Group voicemails are enabled by default for the whole PBX. Ring Group members with voicemail access will receive notifications based on the voicemail notification settings for their own extension.

The content of the email notifications are not able to be customized.
