Group Chat Recipients Not Receiving SMS Messages

Symptom

When sending a message using the Group Chat feature in 8x8 Work for Desktop to recipients on 8x8 Work for Mobile, one or more of the chat recipients gets removed from the Group Chat recipients list, and they do not receive the chat message.  

Applies To

• 8x8 Work for Mobile 7.2 and earlier

Resolution

Send individual messages to recipients that are only logged into 8x8 Work for Mobile.

Group Chat will be supported in a future release of 8x8 Work for Mobile.

Cause

Group Chat is not supported on 8x8 Work for Mobile at this time (version 7.2 and earlier).

Group Chat recipients may be logged in to 8x8 Work for Mobile and show as available. However, 8x8 Work for Desktop will remove them from the recipients list, as it cannot send Group Chat messages to recipients who are only logged in to 8x8 Work for Mobile.
