ContactNow: When do I start getting charged for calls?
Question
At what point do I start getting charged for my inbound and outbound calls?
Applies To
- ContactNow
- Billing
- Call costs
Answer
Outbound
At the point of a connection being made is when call costs will be incurred. This means that ring time will not be billed.
A connection refers to either a human or machine picking up the call. For example, when an Answer Machine is hit by the call, following lengthily ring time, this will count as a connection.
Inbound
Similar to Outbound calling, when a connection is established the call is charged from that point onwards. A queuing inbound call will not incur any costs until an Agent has answered or an Answer Machine service takes the call (for example, after 2 minutes and 30 seconds of queuing a call hits an Answer Machine message and takes a recorded audio message for agents to listen back to).
Please note: If you have set up an IVR, costs may vary even during the queuing process.
