Bria Error 408 Request Timeout

Symptom

8x8 Contact Center agents experience the following error message in Bria "408 Request Timeout." 

Applies To

  • 8x8 Contact Center
  • Bria for Windows/macOS

Resolution

  1. Verify Server Information (Verify Server information (Domain, Server address, Proxy address) entered under the SIP account in Bria.
  2. Ensure Bria isn't being blocked any of the following:
    • Firewall
    • Router
    • Antivirus

Please contact your IT team to ensure Bria is an allowed application through all firewalls and routing devices on your network and operating system.

Cause

Error 408 Request Timeout indicates that the client is not receiving any response from the server that you are trying to connect to. This error is likely caused by incorrect server information (domain, server address) entered in your SIP account.

Another possible cause is that a restrictive firewall or router is blocking the request to, or response from the server.
