2021-04-16: Voice for Teams sync fails when clicking Sync Now (limited scope)



This issue is currently affecting a limited number of customers:

  • When clicking on the Sync Now button in the Voice for Teams admin portal to simultaneously initiate a sync between the 8x8 PBX and Microsoft Teams, the full sync process may fail.
  • In this case, the Sync Now button will display a warning triangle, and the sync log will show failure messages for both 8x8 PBX and Teams.
  • The following message may appear in the most recent PBX sync log:
    • ERROR: EXCEPTION (1): No connection string named 'callmsEntities' could be found in the application config file.

A permanent fix for this issue is expected to be in place soon. No exact ETA is currently available.


To work around this issue when a full sync is required, do not click Sync Now. Doing this performs a simultaneous sync of both services.

Instead, click on the Sync Now drop-down arrow and click to perform individual syncs of the services in this order:

  1. 8x8 PBX
  2. Teams


Note that If you've renamed 8x8 PBX, that name will appear in the drop-down list, instead.

If you still experience sync issues, please verify that browser-cached credentials are not the cause of the issue.
