Why Cant I Dial The 711 Telecommunications Relay Service From My 8x8 Phones?

Symptom

When you dial the short code 711 from an 8x8 phone, you get a fast busy signal. 

Applies To

  • All USA 8x8 Work products

Resolution

If you are a USA based account, please contact 8x8 support and request that 711 be enabled on your account.

Cause

New USA customers will have the 711 for Telecommunications Relay Service enabled by default. However, older customers will have it disabled by default.
