Unable to change External Caller ID in Admin Console

Symptom

Unable to change the users External Caller ID to one of the saved virtual numbers

Applies To

  • 8x8 Admin Console

Resolution

  1. Log in to 8x8 Admin Console. 
  2. Click Users
  3. Click Edit (pencil icon). 
  4. Check to see if the External Caller ID is shown in the drop-down list against your user's profiles.
  5. If the number does not appear in the list, check to see if the intended number is enabled with Shared Caller ID.
  6. If the number still does not appear in the list then Contact 8x8 Support for further assistance.

Cause

This is normally caused on the initial set up on the acquired number, and that it has not been enabled to be shared with the users.
