Unable to Log into Hot Desk

Symptom

Unable to log in to Hot Desk. The following message appears: "Unable to Hot desk, Contact system administrator".

Applies To

  • 8x8 Admin Console
  • Hot Desk

Resolution

Attempt one of the following troubleshooting steps to resolve.

  • Disable Hot Desk in 8x8 8x8 Admin Console, then enable it again.
  • Deactivate the device, then reactivate it.
  • Try to change the Hot Desk device to see if it works with another device.
  • Swap the extension of the Hot Desk login, create a new user, and assign it to Hot Desk.
  • Make sure the extension you are trying to log in as is a Voice extension.
