Ring Group Caller ID does not show the Ring Group Name

Symptom

When receiving a call in a Ring Group the incoming Caller ID only shows the phone/extension number. The Ring Group Name does not display.

Applies To

  • 8x8 Admin Console
  • Ring Groups
  • Call Queues

Resolution

  1. Make a minor change to the Ring Group (e.g.: Add a space to the end of the Name, increase/decrease the alert time by one second)
  2. Save the change
  3. Place a test call to verify if the Ring Group Name is now displayed

If you've completed the above steps but the issue still occurs, create a case with 8x8 Technical Support.

Cause

The Ring Group Name is missing on the back end.
