Invalid Email Address Error When Setting Call Fowarding to Always Forward


When updating an extension to Always Forward, you get an error message: "Invalid email address".

Applies To

  • Account Manager
  • Call Forwarding


  1. Log in to Account Manager
  2. Click Phone System View All Extensions.
  3. Click Edit.
  4. Under Extension Information, click the User Profile.
  5. Assign a temporary profile to the extension.
  6. Click Save.
  7. Go to Call Forwarding > Always Forward > select the required Forwarding option.
  8. Click Save.
  9. Clear the User Profile to remove the temporary profile that was assigned to the extension.

The extension should now have the selected Always Forward option.


This is due to the extension not having a User Profile.
