How to Change Music on Hold in Account Manager

Objective

Changing music on hold in Account Manager. 8x8 Work allows you to replace dead air with music or important information with our Music/Messaging on Hold feature. 8x8 offers 10 music-on-hold options to choose from that you can change online at any time. Or you can upload your own .au files.

Procedure

Set Default Music On Hold for All Extensions

Log in to Account Manager.
Navigate to the Phone System tab and click Music on Hold from the menu on the left side of the screen.
Review the music listed. To hear a sample, click Play.

When you have made your selection, click Select. This music will become the default hold music for all extensions.

Note: Your selection shows a icon in the Status column. You can only make one music file the default music for all extensions in your phone system. But, extension users can change their default hold music through their Virtual Office Online.

When the dialog box appears confirming your selection, click OK.
Click Save.

Allow Each Extension User to Choose their Music on Hold

Log in to Account Manager.
Navigate to the Phone System tab and click Music on Hold from the menu on the left side of the screen.
Review the music listed. To hear a sample, click Play.
Select the Extension User Access check box to enable users to select Music on Hold for their own extensions.
Click OK. Your selected phone extensions now have access to Music on Hold.

Upload Your Own Music On Hold

Log in to Account Manager.
Navigate to the Phone System tab and click Music on Hold from the menu on the left side of the screen.
Click Upload New Music on Hold above the top-left corner of your Music on Hold table.
Click Add and select the music file from your computer.
Click Upload.

If you want to make this music file the default Music on Hold for your phone system, select the checkbox at the bottom.

Note: This does not override the Music on Hold other users have selected from the 8x8 Work accounts. It only applies to extensions where no Music on Hold has been selected.

Review the text in the Electronic Signature field and click I Agree.
The music you uploaded now appears in the Music on Hold library with a icon, indicating that it is the default Music on Hold.
