How to Disable Voicemail
To disable voicemail, set voicemail options to Announce-Only Mode or turn forwarding to voicemail off. Learn more here.
Note: To prevent calls from routing to voicemail in Admin Console, click here.
There are several ways to prevent inbound calls from routing to voicemail or prevent callers from leaving voicemail messages.
Set voicemail options to Announce-Only Mode
- On your phone, access voicemail options:
- From your own extension
Dial 555 and enter your voicemail password, followed by the # key. - From another extension in your system
Dial 500, enter your extension number, then enter your voicemail password, followed by the # key.

- From the audio main menu, press 6 to turn Announce-Only Mode on. Listen to the vocal prompt to ensure the desired mode is set.
- To exit voicemail options, press 9 (or hang up).

Turning Off Forwarding to Voicemail
To turn off forwarding to voicemail
- In Account Manager, click Phone System > View All Extensions.
- Find the extension whose voicemail options you wish to edit and click Edit Extension.
- Click the plus sign (+) to expand the Call Forwarding panel.
- Uncheck the boxes below Forward to Voicemail.
- Click Save.
Forwarding Calls to Another Number
To forward calls to another number
- In Account Manager, click Phone System > View All Extensions.
- Find the extension whose voicemail options you wish to edit and click Edit Extension.
- Click the plus sign (+) to expand the Call Forwarding panel.
- Check the boxes below Forward to External or Extension.
- Under Phone Number, enter the phone number(s) to which you would like to forward incoming calls for the given situations. Note: Entering the same number as the extension you are editing will place any incoming calls in an endless forwarding loop.
- Click Save.
