How do I use 8x8 Admin Console to transfer calls to an extension from voicemail?

Objective

To use 8x8 Admin Console to transfer callers to an extension instead of leaving a voicemail.

Procedure

  1. Log in to 8x8 Admin Console with your administrator's credentials.
  2. Navigate to the Users page.
  3. Click Edit (pencil icon) next to the extension you wish to configure. 
  4. Select Voicemail Settings
  5. Select Custom 0 Dial out to enable it. 
  6. Under On pressing 0 forward to select the extension to transfer the call to.
    • Note: the receptionist extension is the default.

Additional Information

The receptionist extension can be defined under Home / Sites and editing the site(s).
