Calls on 8x8 Work for Desktop Fail


Calls on Work for Desktop fail.

  1. Log in to Work for Desktop.
  2. Click Settings (gear icon). 
  3. Click Audio and Video.
  4. Ensure that the Microphone and Speakers are detecting the proper audio.
  5. Click the Windows icon.
  6. Type (search) Privacy and click Privacy Settings.
  7. Select Microphone on the left sidebar menu.
  8. Set Allow apps to access your microphone to Enable.


When the computer's microphone is disabled, both incoming and outgoing calls won't work on Work for Desktop. Even if a microphone is detected under settings of Work for Desktop, allow access to microphone on the computer must be enabled.
