Enabling softphone-only mode for Virtual Office Desktop.
Virtual Office Desktop
To better integrate with applications that provide contact directories with messaging and presence visibility, you have the option of using the softphone-only mode of the Virtual Office Desktop app. If you company uses both 8x8 Virtual Office and an existing communications service, you can request the softphone-only mode of the Virtual Office desktop app, and retain the call management capabilities of the application.
It is recommended you contact 8x8 Support for assistance with enabling softphone-only mode.
Enabling Softphone-Only Mode in VOD
- Download this config.xml file. Extract the config.xml file from the .zip file.
- On your PC, navigate to c:\Program Files (x86)\8x8 Virtual Office\8x8 - Virtual Office.
- Move or copy and paste the new config.xml file into the above directory, replacing the config.xml file that is currently located in that directory.
- Launch the Virtual Office Desktop application.
