Forwarding Calls in 8x8 Work for Desktop



Set forwarding rules for calls in Work for Desktop.

Beginning with Work for Desktop 7.9, the 8x8 Account Settings app is a mandatory download to configure/adjust the settings below for Non-X Series users. To download this app, click here.

Forwarding rules for all calls directed to your own extension can be set within Work for Desktop and Work for Mobile.

Legacy Users

  1. Open 8x8 Account Settings.
  2. Click Call Forwarding.
  3. Click +Add New Rule to create a custom forwarding rule.image.png
  4. Click Save.
  5. Click Save in the Call Forwarding window within Settings.

X Series

  1. Open Work for Desktop.
  2. Click Settings > Account Settings.
  3. Navigate to Call Forwarding Rules.
  4. Click +Add New Rule to create a custom forwarding rule.

  6. Click Save.

Additional Information

Disabling Call Forwarding

If you want to disable the forwarding rules you have created, you will need to return to Settings > Call Forwarding and uncheck the box next to the appropriate rule to disable it. Then click Save.

Note: Turning call forwarding off from the Work for Desktop panel will not disable custom call forwarding rules. You need to disable the particular rule under Settings > Call Forwarding to turn off that rule.

Be sure your forwarding rules do not conflict with any rules set in Account Manager, 8x8 Admin Console, or on your deskphone.
