Unable to make outbound calls using Work for Mobile on iOS

 

Symptom

When attempting to make an outbound call on an iPhone or iOS device using the 8x8 Work for Mobile app, you encounter a single busy tone and then silence. The call does not complete.

Applies To

  • iOS version is 15.0.2
  • 8x8 Work for Mobile verison 10.13.26

Resolution

A fix has been released by 8x8 engineering and we are monitoring. Please close and relaunch the 8x8 Work for Mobile app to engage the fix and use as normal.

An updated version of the app -- 10.13.1 (b3) -- with the permanently applied fix is now available on the AppStore.

Note: Disabling SRTP will not allow hard phones to be encrypted.
