After working with numerous customers using Google routers, we have found that the devices are locked down in such a way that the necessary settings to configure the network for VoIP services are inaccessible (e.g., the ability to disable SIP ALG). Google Support was contacted, and confirmed that these settings are inaccessible.
Example of Google Devices
- Google WiFi Router - OnHub AC1900
- Google WiFi
- Google Mesh
Customers using these routers to run their 8x8 services may experience the following issues:
- Line Unregistered
- Dropped Calls
- No Audio or One-Way Audio
The recommended solution is to use a router with VoIP-compatible settings to ensure long-term stability of your phones.
