Enabling Poly CCX 700 with 8x8 Work for Beta testing

Hardware Setup

End users who want to join our Beta program during the limited availability phase will need the latest version of the Poly firmware which is 7.2.1 FW. There are two possibilities to get it: BYOD (not purchased through 8x8) should get this version as delivered from factory or a device purchased through 8x8 (delivers with an older version of the FW due to some bug affecting the native SIP implementation) that needs to get factory reset to get the latest version of the FW.

The 7.2.1 FW version of Poly supports the 8X8 app profile that once activated downloads the 8x8 Work for Mobile app from the URL that's embedded in the FW ( This URL can be overridden via Poly config and that needs Poly phones to be pointing to a provisioning server that has the config to override the URL.

Selecting the 8x8 App profile happens during the OOB experience. Users can activate OOB experience with factory reset or without factory resetting and navigating to Settings > Advanced > Enter Admin Password  > Administration Settings > Reset to Defaults > Out-of-box Wizard and then follow the below steps.

Enrolling in the Beta Program

Users that are able to get the 8x8 Work for Mobile loading on their device will be greeted with the under construction banner page and will not initially be able to login into the app. In order to gain access, users will need to email to receive a template email requesting the device's MAC address. The MAC address will then be used to activate the device for Beta access and redirect the app URL to an unlocked version of the 8x8 Work for Mobile.
