Extension Stuck on Busy in Switchboard

The extension is stuck on busy in Switchboard even when the user is not on a call. 

Applies To

  • 8x8 Admin Console
  • Switchboard


  1. Log in to Switchboard.
  2. Clear browser cache and cookies. 
  3. Log in to 8x8 Admin Console.
  4. Click Users
  5. Click Edit (pencil icon). 
  6. Toggle Contact Directory Scope to another option.

  7. Click Save.
  8. Click Edit (pencil icon). 
  9. Toggle Contact Directory Scope back to the original option.
  10. Click Save
  11. Log out and back into Switchboard. 

The extension should no longer be stuck on busy.

If the extension is still stuck on busy, please create a case.
