Overview

8x8's Virtual Office Click2Pop integration with eAgent by eBridge links a user's 8x8 phone to the eAgent software and all web browsers from the 8x8 Click2Pop application. It produces an information screen pop on record match for incoming calls, as well as outbound click-to-dial for properly formatted telephone numbers within eAgent or any browser window. 8x8 eAgent Click2Pop Technical Requirements

The eAgent Integration Requires:

  • Microsoft Windows 7 higher
  • Google Chrome 22.x+; Internet Explorer 6.0+; Mozilla Firefox 3.0+

Note: Safari and Opera are not supported.

Installer must have Administrator rights to the PC to install the plug-in.

Click2Pop Download And Installation

Note: 8x8 integration plug-ins are designed to be installed locally, on each computer employing them. They cannot be installed on a server being accessed by terminal devices. When troubleshooting issues, ensure that the plug-in is installed directly on the device attempting to use it.

  1. Download the eAgent Client software.
  2. Find and run the downloaded installer.
  3. Follow the 8x8 Click2Pop setup wizard.
  4. Click Install Now.

  5. A browser message indicating successful installation will display.

Integration with eAgent
  1. Restart computer (if necessary) or manually open 8x8 Click2Pop.
  2. After the application opens, click Browser Extensions.

  3. Click Add to Internet Explorer to connect the integration with Internet Explorer on your computer.

  4. Click the Login tab.

  5. Enter your 8x8 User ID and Password and click Log In.
  6. Log into eAgent and go to Setup > VoIP Integration.
  7. From the Select VoIP Provider list, select 8x8.
  8. Copy the URL in the text box and paste it into the 8x8 Click2Pop application URL text box.

  9. If needed, check the Customize box.
  10. Enter %%caller_number_raw%% in the Variable for caller number text box.

  11. To enable automatic telephone number lookup and browser-pop, check the box next to Automatically open the web page. Then select which action triggers the pop:
    • When I receive a call.
    • When I answer a call.
  12. Check the box next to Display a desktop alert when I receive a call.
  13. Close the dialog box by clicking the red x in the upper right.
  14. The eAgent plugin will remain running in the background and visible in the system tray.

Browser Configuration for Click2Pop

Internet Explorer

Ensure Click2Pop is enabled within Add-Ons.

  1. From the Settings menu, click Internet Options.
  2. Click the Programs tab.
  3. Click Manage add-ons.
  4. Find and select 8x8Click2Pop from the add-ons list.
  5. Ensure that it is enabled. If not, click Enable.
  6. Click Close.
  7. Clear browser cache.
  8. Restart the browser.

Ensure the following plug-ins are properly installed and enabled:

Mozilla Firefox

Ensure the following plug-ins are properly installed and enabled:

  1. Go to Firefox > Tools > Add-ons.
  2. In the Add-ons Manager tab, select Plugins.
  3. Click Java (TM) Platform.
  4. Click Enable (if the button says Disable, Java is already enabled).

Note: When complete, clear cache and restart the browser.

Audio Configuration for Use With Virtual Office Desktop

It's essential to properly configure and test Virtual Office so that it recognizes and uses the correct audio input (mic) and output (speakers), especially when using a headset. Please complete all of the following steps:

  1. If using external audio delivery devices (such as a headset), ensure they are properly connected.
  2. In Virtual Office Desktop's menu, click Settings > Audio & Video.
  3. In the Microphone section, select the input device you wish to use.
  4. To test that the microphone device is properly transmitting audio, click Start Test.
  5. In the Speakers section, select the output device you wish to use.
  6. To test speaker device is properly transmitting audio, next to device menu, click Test.
  7. Lastly, to test audio settings, click Call Testing Service and follow prompts.
