Timescales: What time of day will my numbers port to 8x8?
Day Of Port Timings
Once the port request to bring your telephone numbers to 8x8 has been accepted by your current provider, the order will be scheduled to take place at a specific time and date. The timing of the port can vary depending on the volume of numbers, the carriers involved, and the country in which the port is taking place. In most cases we will be able to let you know the start time for your port in advance to help you plan accordingly.

USA
Depending on how the port is being processed, the time of the actual port completion may vary. Keep in mind that until the request completes the number will remain active with the existing provider. Most ports result in minimal downtime of the number once complete, typically less than 5 minutes. If you do experience more downtime please get in touch via your case so that we can investigate further.
Automated Orders
Most local porting orders are handled by our automated system these orders are processed anytime from 3 to 5 am PST Monday -Friday, but depending on the loosing carrier the port can occur as late as 3 PM PST
Manual Orders
For some complex port requests one of our number porting team will need to process your request manually. Time ranges are often dependent on the current provider but we typically see porting requests complete within the following ranges:
- Mondays: 5 AM PST - 3 PM PST
- Tuesdays: 5 AM PST - 3 PM PST
- Wednesdays: 5 AM PST - 3 PM PST
- Thursdays: 5 AM PST - 3 PM PST
- Fridays: 5 AM PST - 3 PM PST
If you're working directly with a member of our team on an order please feel free to request a time along with your date if it falls within these ranges. Keep in mind that timing requests are made on a best endeavours basis and some timings may not be feasible.

Whilst sometimes it is possible to schedule an afternoon port this does increase the risk that any issues may not be resolved until the following business day. In these cases, numbers may have extended outages until the current provider takes action the following morning.
