Amend Caller ID Within Virtual Office Desktop - Classic View

Objective

Set up your caller ID profile.

Within the 8x8 Virtual Office desktop app, you are able to amend your number when making calls. It is also possible to block your outbound caller ID.

Applies to

8x8 Virtual Office desktop app Classic View.

Procedure

To set up your Caller ID profile

  1. Click  from the bottom toolbar.
    OR
    Select Virtual Office Settings from the Virtual Office desktop app menu.
  2. Go to My Services.
  3. Scroll to External Caller ID.

To block your outgoing caller ID

  1. Click the arrow next to your Caller ID number.
  2. Select Anonymous from the list.
  3. Click Save.

To pick a caller ID number

  1. Click the arrow next to your Caller ID number.
  2. Select a number from the drop-down list.
    You can change your extension to any number available to you for your outbound caller ID number.
    If you want to keep your caller ID private, select Anonymous.
  3. Click Save.

To display a caller ID name

  1. Next to Calling As, enter your name.
    If you select Anonymous for your Caller ID, your display name will show up as Anonymous.
    Changes take effect immediately.
  2. Click Save.
If you cannot see the number that you want to use in the drop down box, or you do not have access to amend your Caller ID, this will need to be made available in your Account Manager/Configuration Manager Portals.
