Returning a number that has already been claimed in Virtual Office Configuration Manager.
Virtual Office Configuration Manager, Phone Numbers.
From the Home page, select the tab labeled Phone Numbers.
Before you can return the number, be sure that Number Status column is listed as Available.
If the Assigned To column has a user, ring group, auto attendant, or call queue listed, the number is assigned to a location. The current location must be removed before returning the number.
Once you have verified the the number is Available, check the box directly to the left of the number you wish to return (you can check multiple boxes if you plan on returning multiple numbers). Once the box is checked, an option labeled Return Number to 8x8 will appear at the top right corner. Select Return Number to 8x8 and click Continue.
After you've selected continue, the number will have been returned to the 8x8 number pool and you can now select a brand new number. Once the number is returned, you can still recover the number(s) within 90 days, if you change your mind.
