Users no longer see one or more of their 8x8/Skype contacts' call status (presence) in Skype for Business when those contacts are on a call or available.
Note that this article assumes that 8x8 Virtual Office Desktop is logged into and being used as the primary phone device for an 8x8 extension. This is required for presence to Skype for Business to work. Call presence to Skype is not supported when calls are made using an 8x8 hard phone.
This applies to 8x8 Virtual Office Desktop used in conjunction with the 8x8 Skype for Business integration.
Currently the Virtual Office Desktop application v6.0.0 does not support presence with the Skype for Business.
To display and confirm the version of Virtual Office Desktop you are using, select About Virtual Office from the Virtual Office menu.
This issue is currently being addressed in product development.
If Virtual Office presence required in Skype for Business in the mean time, affected user(s) must uninstall Virtual Office Desktop v6.0.0 and install v5.9.0, instead. Version 5.9.0 can be downloaded from the following page:
