Polycom: Calls Drop When Transferring

Symptom

Issue happens when an 8x8 Polycom phone is on a call with a non-8x8 phone. The 8x8 phone will select Transfer, put in the phone number, wait for a ring back then select Transfer again. The call will drop and the non-8x8 phone will hear 3 busy tones then the call will drop.

Applies To

Any 8x8 Polycom phone.

Resolution

After putting in the phone number, wait until the other party picks up then phone, then select Transfer.

If transferring to another 8x8 phone, put in the 8x8 phone's extension number instead of the phone number.

Instead of selecting Transfer go to More. You may have to press More 2-3 times, select BlindXfer or Blind Transfer, put in the phone number and send the call.
