Reuse Extension for New Private Routing Error Extension Already in Use

Symptom

When you attempt to re-use a Virtual Contact Center Private Routing number when creating a new user in VO Account Manager,  you get a message: "... extension already in use."

Example

  1. Agent1 has VCC Extension 6003
  2. Agent1 leaves the company, is removed from all VCC Queue assignments, is removed from all VO phone assignments, and is deleted from VO Account Manager.
  3. Agent2 joins the company, is assigned a VO phone in VO Account Manager, and is defined as a VCC Agent in VO Account Manager.
  4. In the Update User Profile dialog, click New Private Routing # button.
  5. In the Add Private Routing Number dialog, enter "6003" for the Private Routing #.
  6. Click Add, gets error "... extension already in use."

Resolution

Use the icon to automatically generate the VCC private routing extension.

  1. In the Update User Profile dialog, click New Private Routing # button.
  2. In the Add Private Routing Number dialog, click the icon to the right of the Private Routing # text box (looks like a paper with an arrow).
