Outbound caller ID showing as anonymous

Symptom

Caller ID on outbound calls shows as Anonymous or restricted despite caller ID being set to a specific telephone number in Account Manager and Virtual Office.

Applies To

  • Virtual Office Account Manager, Virtual Office Desktop, Virtual Office Mobile

Resolution

Raise a case with 8x8 Support. 8x8 Support will escalate the case to the relevant Engineering Team to resolve the issue. 

Cause

'blockCallerId' attribute in 8x8 back-end system is set to true. This should be set to false. This change can only be made by the 8x8 Engineering Teams.
