Switchboard calls failing to Mobile contact number

Question

Why are call attempts to a contact's Mobile number failing?

Applies To

  • Switchboard, Configuration Manager users with a Personal Contact Number set

Answer

The Personal Contact Number contains special characters (most often hypens or dashes "-").

Removing them will allow Switchboard to successfully dial the number.
