Activation issues after UC 4.0 upgrade


After a UC 4.0+ upgrade, a Polycom IP phone shows errors 0x0 or Error: Application not found on attempted activation.

Polycom IP Phones with UC 4.0+ firmware


  1. From the phone's local menu interface, press Menu > Settings > Advanced (default password: 456) > Administration Settings > Network Configuration > Server Menu.
  2. Set Server Type to HTTP.
  3. Input Server Address as
  4. Reboot the device.
  5. After the phone reboots completely, go back to the Server Menu and change the Server Type to HTTPS and the Server Address to

The phone may boot two or three times and will show "Network is Down" for about 15 to 30 seconds while it initializes. Please let the phone sit for at least two minutes.


The cause of this problem is an improper UC 4.0 firmware upgrade.
