Content Sharing in Virtual Meeting 1.0 (browser version) does not work or times out when using a Mozilla Firefox browser, even though the required software is installed and up-to-date.

Java is not activated.

To activate Java in Firefox

  1. In the top left of the browser window (just to the left of the address bar), click the red block icon. You will be prompted to Activate Java. (If it is not there, see the Restore Activation Option tab.)
  2. There should be a drop-down that allows you to select Activate All Plugins. This should allow Content Sharing to always run for the selected site--in this case, Content Sharing for Virtual Meeting.

If you originally chose not to activate as described in the previous tab, the browser will not prompt you to activate the plug-in anymore. To fix this, do the following:

  1. In the Firefox browser address bar, type about:config
  2. Click I'll be careful, I promise!

  3. In the search bar, type: plugins.click_to_play
  4. After the results populate, look at the Value for plugins.click_to_play -- it should say False.

  5. Double-click the property until it shows True.

  6. Close and restart the browser.

Now that you have restarted Mozilla Firefox, re-join the meeting. When you click on Content Sharing, it will prompt you to Activate. This time, choose to Always Activate Plugin (as described in the first tab).
