Salesforce 8x8 Work Desktop Link This Meeting Error

Symptom

While in 8x8 Work for Desktop, you click Link This Meeting and receive a message that reads, "To use this integration, your admin needs to install the 8x8 Meetings app in Salesforce and grant you permission to use it."

Resolution

In Salesforce, assign the affected user the Salesforce license instead of the Salesforce Platform license.

Cause

This is due to a limitation of the Salesforce Platform license.
