Number of Assigned MS Teams Licenses Does Not Decrease After Removing US User

Symptom

When I remove a US user who was using Voice for Teams, the number of assigned Voice for Teams users does not decrease.

Resolution

No action is needed. Look at the total number of assigned Voice for Teams licenses.

Example:

Before removing a United States (US) user you have assigned:
- Voice for Microsoft Teams-VOSVC0216-09-GB assigned 100
- Voice for Microsoft Teams-VOSVC0216-09-US assigned 60
- Total assigned is 160.
Remove 1 US user.
- Voice for Microsoft Teams-VOSVC0216-09-GB assigned 99
- Voice for Microsoft Teams-VOSVC0216-09-US assigned 60
- Total assigned is 159.

Cause

Voice for Teams license usage is not based on the country designation of the Voice for Teams license you have purchased. You have some US users using Voice for Teams licenses that have been purchased with a different country designation.
In the Admin Console, under Users, Generate a User report, and select the option Extension Voice: Dependent Services.

In the resulting report, count the number of US users where Extension Voice: Dependent Services is MS_TEAMS. This number will be greater than 60 in the above example.
