Unable to Validate Access Token in 8x8 Work for Desktop

When attempting to log in to Work for Desktop, you receive an error that ends with, "Unable to validate access token (0,400)," and you are unable to log in.

Warning! This process will delete all call history, call forwarding settings, voicemails, voicemail greetings, and will deactivate your device. Please make sure to copy all pertinent data before following the steps below.
- Log in to 8x8 Admin Console.
- Click Users.
- Click More Options (three dots) to the right of the affected user.
- Select Edit.
- Under Service Selection, click X to the right of the current license you have assigned.
- Click Save.
- Once you receive the Save Successful message, go back to Service Selection, select the desired license, and reconfigure the user. You will need to reassign the user's phone number and extension, and re-activate their phone.
This is due to an incorrect association between the user profile and the user's license.
