Every inbound call coming into the 8x8 system has the main company number showing as Caller ID.
- New accounts with numbers pending port-in
- Old accounts with a new port request for a specific site
Contact the losing carrier to request to maintain the original Caller ID when forwarding into the 8x8 system while the number port is in progress.
Alternatively, wait until the porting process is complete.
The losing carrier/vendor is forwarding calls into the 8x8 system via a temporary number, using the number to be ported as the Caller ID.
