Why are users unable to connect to the Call Testing Service?

Answer

The Call Testing Service dials to a US-based number and is therefore blocked by Domestic External calling permissions for calling countries other than North America.

Calls to the Call Testing Service should connect using External calling permissions set to either:

  • Any calling country with an external calling plan International
  • Calling country North America Numbering Plan, with an external calling plan: Domestic or International

Additional Information

To call the Call Testing Service from a Domestic external calling plan for a calling country other than North America Numbering Plan a custom rule would need to be added to the dial plan to allow this. This would need to be requested from 8x8 by an administrator on your account.
