Endpoints EOL List and FAQ
Overview
The hardware endpoints listed in this article are currently in End-of-Sale (EOS) status, and will soon reach End-of-Life status (EOL). Phones in EOL status will no longer work with 8x8's service.
8x8 will endeavor to support these products to at least the manufacturer's end of security support, but reserves the right to end support for them, for security or operational reasons.
NOTE: For purposes of this article: a device that is supported in Admin Console means that it is visible in Admin Console under Home > Devices as well as in any assigned user profile(s), and that the device entry can be edited (such as the ability to delete it or change the phone model type).

Questions & Answers
How long will my device work?
Your device will work as long as it is supported in the 8x8 Admin Console.
If 8x8 removes your device from 8x8 Admin Console, it will continue to work, but it will not have SRTP (encryption) enabled. In this case, you will no longer be able to make changes to the device in 8x8 Admin Console.
Are my calls less secure?
If the device is removed from Admin Console as a supported model, your calls will not be encrypted and will be less secure as a result.
Can I upgrade or swap my EOL device with a supported one?
You can swap your old device for a new one within Admin Console user profiles only if the old device has not been removed from Admin Console.
However, if the device has been removed from Admin Console, then to swap it out for a newer device you will first need to remove the X Series voice (VO) service license from your user and then re-add it in order to add the newer model to that user profile.
CRITICAL: If your old device has been removed from Admin Console (it does not appear in Admin Console), then as stated above, replacing it with a supported model requires that the user's voice (VO) service license in their 8x8 user profile must first be deleted and then re-added.
In this case the user will lose all voicemails, greetings, forwarding rules, faxes, etc, associated with the profile.
Note that this does not apply as long as the old model currently remains visible and editable in Admin Console.
Can I change the configuration of my device?
If the model is still visible and editable in Admin Console, then yes. If the model is no longer visible or editable in Admin Console, then no.
Can I replace an EOL device with another EOL device if I have extra?
Only if it’s still supported in the Admin Console.
Can I use my own devices even though they are EOS?
Only if they are still supported in the Admin Console.
Can I use a device that is EOL on the manufacturer’s side?
Only if it’s still supported in the Admin Console.
