SRTP No Longer Supported on Poly Soundstation 7000

Overview

In order to reduce security threats, we have disabled support for SRTP (Secure Real-time Transport Protocol) on all Poly SoundStation IP 7000s.

Question

Does 8x8 support SRTP on Poly SoundStation IP 7000 conference phones?

Answer

8x8 no longer supports SRTP on Poly SoundStation IP 7000 conference phones. 

These devices only support TLS (Transport Layer Security) 1.0 and have hardware and software limitations that do not allow them to support TLS 1.1 and 1.2. In order to reduce security threats, 8x8 has disabled support for TLS 1.0 on our secure media and SBC servers.

In order to maintain functional service on active devices, we have disabled SRTP on all active Poly SoundStation IP 7000s. This means phone calls on these devices will no longer be encrypted. We also disabled the ability to enable SRTP on these devices in the 8x8 Admin Console.
