Mismatched Audio Device
Symptom
When using separate hardware devices for audio and microphone, one or more of the following issues occurs:
- An echo may be experienced on calls.
- Choppy or one-way audio may be experienced on calls and meetings.
You receive the following error: Using separate devices for microphone and speakers may cause echo or poor audio.
Applies To
- Fuze Desktop
- Audio
Resolution
This may be resolved by selecting a different audio input and output configuration (Navigate to Profile menu > Settings > Audio/Video). If you continue to experience an error message or side effects, contact your IT department to assist you in configuring your audio devices.
To ensure your audio settings are configured properly, you can test your Fuze setup. For additional information, refer to Fuze Checkup.
Cause
If Fuze is configured to use one device for your microphone, and a separate device for your speakers (e.g., a USB camera for audio input and a bluetooth headset for audio output), a message may be generated stating that this type of audio configuration is not supported.
