What's New with Fuze Mobile?

This article describes features and improvements available in the latest versions of Fuze Mobile. 

Depending on your company’s settings and your permissions, you may have some or all of the features described below.

For details about what's new with Fuze Desktop and Web, click here.

December 2021

Fuze 6.23

Key Features

  • Walkie-Talkie Mode Improvements

    • If a user leaves or is removed from a chat group while using Walkie-Talkie Mode, Walkie-Talkie Mode will automatically turn off and that group will be removed from the Active section in the Recent tab

    • Incoming audio messages will no longer interrupt users when recording an audio message

    • We have improved the user experience when playing audio messages through the phone's speaker that were sent from users without a profile picture

    • We have resolved an issue that prevented users from turning on Walkie-Talkie Mode in a chat unless they had already sent or received a message within that group chat

  • Other Improvements

    • When receiving a call from a ring group, the name of the ring group will now display on the screen as well as the Recent tab and Conversation screen

    • Improved usability including enhancements to Dark Mode and to the Supervisor-In-Tablet experience

Fuze Mobile 6.23 will be available in the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store the week of December 13.

Fuze 6.22

Key Features

  • Emergency Calling with GPS Location (US/Canada only): We have updated our emergency services process and handling on Fuze Mobile -

    • As a Fuze user, you will now be prompted to share your GPS location for the purposes of emergency calling. Users can permanently dismiss the prompt. If dismissed, this feature can be re-enabled via Settings. 

    • All emergency calling will now be handled via Fuze Mobile and no longer be pushed to the native dial pad on your mobile device.

    • If GPS location is not shared with Fuze Mobile, Fuze will use your provisioned location information during a 911 call, which may not be accurate. Therefore, if you dismiss the location prompt, you will be individually responsible during an emergency call to provide/confirm your physical location. 

    • This feature applies only to users with services located in the US and/or Canada. 

  • Enhanced Call Queue Management: As a Contact Center supervisor, you can now transfer a call from a queue you supervise to any queue within the same organization, even if it’s not supervised by you. Exclusive to Fuze Desktop and Fuze Web.

  • Walkie-Talkie Mode: On Android devices, play incoming audio out loud as it comes in, even if Fuze Mobile is in the background. Users can then reply by simply holding a button and easily replay any missed audio as well.
    Walkie-Talkie communications will be received as audio messages by users on iOS devices and media attachments for Fuze Desktop/Web users. Full Walkie-Talkie Mode functionality will be available for iOS users in a future release.

  • Call Queue Alert Setup: As a supervisor, create, edit, and delete alerts for managed queues directly from your tablet. This feature has been available on Fuze Desktop/Web and is now available on Fuze Mobile for tablets.

Fuze Mobile 6.22 will be available in the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store the week of November 22.

Fuze Mobile 6.21

Fuze Contact Center

“Agent is recording” notification - Supervisors can quickly see if one of their agents is recording a call or has momentarily paused a recording. This feature has been available on Fuze Desktop and Fuze Web and is now available on Fuze Mobile.

Additional Enhancements

  • Audio message items now display their duration in chats and in the recents list (Fuze Mobile only).
  • A message is now displayed in chat when more than one person is typing and/or recording audio (Fuze Mobile only).
  • An alert is now displayed when initiating an audio recording during a call or meeting.

Issue Resolution

  • Resolved an issue causing Fuze Mobile on Pixel 3a and Samsung Tab A devices to crash when initiating a call or meeting.
  • Resolved an issue where Android users placing a call after logging into a new account would see their call coming from the previously logged-in account’s number.

End of Support

  • Support for Internet Explorer 11 has been discontinued. Users accessing Fuze from this browser will be automatically redirected to a legacy version.
  • Support for iOS 13 has been discontinued. Fuze Mobile 6.20 will be the most recent version available for iOS devices running iOS 13.

Fuze Mobile 6.21 will be available in the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store the week of October 25.


September 2021

Fuze Mobile 6.20

Key Feature

Screen share from chat (Fuze Desktop, Web) - We are introducing the ability to quickly and easily screen share in a 1:1 chat conversation without starting a video call or a meeting. This feature was previously only available by request but will now be available by default for users on 6.20 or higher. Please note that users must have meeting capabilities in order to initiate a screen share from chat. Also, starting a screen share is only available from Fuze Desktop and Web at this time. However, users can view the screen share on Fuze Mobile.

Additional Enhancements

  • Improved visibility of URL previews in chat messages without previewable images
    Improvements to the dialpad visual experience, including completely displaying users with long names
  • Introduction of a detailed error message to assist users experiencing issues during account provisioning to properly understand and diagnose any technical problems

Issue Resolution

  • Resolved an issue that incorrectly notified some users with stable network connections that their network connectivity was poor when joining meetings (Fuze Web only)
    Resolved an issue that prevented certain users from being able to turn on their camera during meetings (Fuze Web for Microsoft Edge only)
  • Additional miscellaneous bug fixes, improvements, and refactoring

Fuze Mobile 6.20 will be available in the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store the week of September 27.


August 2021

Fuze Mobile 6.18

Swipe to reply (Fuze Mobile) - It’s easier than ever to respond to a specific message in a 1:1 or group chat. Simply swipe the message to the right.

Audio (echo) and video improvements (Fuze Desktop, Mobile) - We have upgraded our calling and meeting technology stack with a new WebRTC library, resulting in the reduction of echo in calls and meetings, as well as general enhancements to improve audio and video quality. 

Your Agents and Watchlist Views for Supervisors on Tablet (Fuze Mobile) - Contact Center supervisors using Fuze Mobile on tablets now have two more ways to visualize contact center activity, Your Agents and Watchlist view. Both of these views are also available on Fuze Desktop and Web.

BETA: Screen share from chat (Fuze Desktop, Mobile, Web) - We are introducing the ability to quickly and easily screen share in a 1:1  chat conversation without starting a video call or a meeting. At this time, this feature is currently in beta and is enabled only upon request.

Please note that users must have meeting capabilities in order to initiate a screen share from chat. Also, starting a screen share is only available from Fuze Desktop and Web at this time. However, users can view the screen share on Fuze Mobile.

Fuze Mobile 6.18 will be available in the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store the week of August 2.

 

June 2021

Fuze Mobile 6.16

Join third-party meetings (Fuze Desktop, Web, Mobile) - You can now join third-party meetings directly from your Fuze Meetings list. Once you have connected your calendar to Fuze, select any event from your Fuze Meetings list containing a meeting invitation for Zoom, Teams, Google Meet, GoToMeeting, or Webex to instantly launch that meeting link.

Fuze Mobile 6.16 - Fuze Contact Center

Additional alerts for supervisors on tablet (Fuze Mobile) - Fuze Contact Center supervisors can now see the full range of alerts on Fuze Mobile for tablets, with the addition of alerts in the Queue Details screen (Active agents, Average wait time, Calls waiting, Abandoned call rates, SLA, Agent idle time, Agent pause time, Agent talk time).

Fuze Mobile 6.16 will be available in the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store the week of June 7.


May 2021

Fuze Desktop, Web, Mobile 6.15

Supervisor alerts on tablet (Fuze Mobile) - Fuze Contact Center supervisors can see alerts configured from Fuze Desktop/Web in the Manage Queues screen (Abandoned calls, Calls waiting, Average call wait, Active agents, SLA, Longest wait time), with additional alerts to be released in subsequent releases. For added visibility, a badge appears on the Contact Center tab when there is an alert.

In addition to the supervisor alert update for Fuze Contact Center, Fuze 6.15 includes a number of performance improvements and bug fixes.

Fuze Mobile 6.15 will be available in the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store the week of May 10.

Fuze Mobile 6.14

What’s New (Fuze Mobile) - Mirroring the What’s New drop-down in Fuze Desktop and Fuze Web, we will now highlight new features and improvements directly within Fuze Mobile.

Supervisor on tablet enhancements (Fuze Mobile) - Contact center supervisors can now search for specific queues or agents within the new Contact Center section of Fuze Mobile for tablets.

Fuze Mobile 6.14 will be available in the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store the week of April 12.

Fuze Mobile 6.13

Pickup group updates (Fuze Desktop, Web, Mobile) - You no longer need to be within close proximity of desk phones to participate in pickup groups. Now, delegate members in a pickup group can see, accept, and ignore incoming calls from Fuze Desktop, Mobile, or Web. To help members of a pickup group avoid unnecessary distractions, these notifications are disabled by default but can be enabled in Settings. Additionally, we have adjusted the timing of the delegate notifications to provide the intended recipient of a call with more time to answer the call before delegates are notified.

Favorites widget (Fuze Mobile: iOS) - Available in medium and large sizes, use the new Favorites widget to quickly access your favorite contacts and groups directly from your home screen. The Favorites widget, and the previously released Upcoming Meetings widget, are both available on Fuze Mobile on iOS 14.

Fuze Mobile 6.13 - Fuze Contact Center

Supervisor on tablet (Fuze Mobile) - Contact center supervisors cannot afford to be tied to their computer all day. Whether they are walking around a physical call center or stretching their legs at their home office, they need a solution that moves with them. That’s why we have brought the supervisor experience to Fuze Mobile on tablets. In this release, supervisors can view queue statistics, sign agents in and out of queues, initiate call monitoring, and cherrypick calls. We will introduce additional functionality on tablets in subsequent releases.

Fuze Mobile 6.13 will be available in the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store the week of March 22.

Fuze Mobile 6.12 includes miscellaneous improvements and bug fixes.

January 2021

Fuze Mobile 6.11

Upcoming meetings widget - iOS 14 users can add a Fuze widget to their home screen to stay on top of upcoming meetings or join ongoing meetings directly. The widget is available in small and medium sizes.

Miscellaneous improvements and bug fixes

Fuze Mobile 6.11 will be available in the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store the week of January 18.


December 2020

Fuze Mobile 6.9

Fuze Mobile 6.9 includes several improvements and bug fixes. In this release, we have:

  • Added more functionality for Fuze Mobile when used on Samsung devices in DeX mode, including support for external cameras
  • Improved the join experience for users clicking on a vanity URL to join a meeting 
  • Made other miscellaneous improvements and bug fixes 

Fuze Mobile 6.9 will be available in the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store the week of November 30.


November 2020

Fuze Mobile 6.8

This version of Fuze Mobile introduces the following enhancements:  

Reply to messages - You can now reply to specific messages, making it much easier to maintain context in a busy group conversation. Reply to includes a mention of the author of the original message, notifying the author that you are replying directly to something he or she has previously written.

Miscellaneous improvements and bug fixes

Fuze Mobile 6.8 will be available in the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store the week of October 26.


October 2020

Fuze Mobile 6.7

This version of Fuze Mobile introduces the following enhancements:  

  • Prepend in caller ID - If your call flows include prepends (most commonly used to supplement caller information for shared line appearances), that information will now display when receiving a call on Fuze Mobile.

Fuze Mobile 6.7 will be available in the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store the week of September 28.


August 2020

Fuze Mobile 6.6

This version of Fuze Mobile introduces the following enhancements:  

  • Font support for content sharing - We’ve added support for 20 new Google fonts for uploaded content to the content locker in Fuze Meetings. Documents and presentations will now display as expected.

Fuze Mobile 6.6 will be available in the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store the week of August 31.

Fuze Mobile 6.5

This version of Fuze Mobile introduces the following enhancements and new features:  

  • Call monitoring indicator - Agents will now see a banner to indicate that their supervisors have joined a call or are whispering to the agent. The banner will not appear if their supervisor is only listening.

  • Miscellaneous improvements and bug fixes

Fuze Mobile 6.5 will be available in the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store the week of August 10.


July 2020

Fuze Mobile 6.4

This version of Fuze Mobile introduces the following new features:  

  • Samsung DeX mode improvements - You now have the option to share the DeX screen or the tablet screen when using your Samsung phone or tablet in DeX mode and screen sharing. 

  • Change pause reason in agent call queues - You can now change the pause reason without signing out and signing back into the agent call queue.

Fuze Mobile 6.4 will be available in the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store the week of July 13.

Fuze Mobile 6.3

This version of Fuze Mobile introduces the following new feature:  

  • Mobile agent queues -  Queues are now available in Fuze Mobile, giving contact center agents the ability to sign in, resume, pause, and sign out of their queues, allowing for contact center participation on the go.

Fuze Mobile 6.2

This version of Fuze Mobile introduces the following enhancements and new features:  

Tablet multitasking - We've improved the Fuze experience on your tablet for easier use alongside other apps. On iOS, you can multitask in Split View and Slide Over. On Android you can multitask in Split screen and Pop-up views. When multitasking, you can now do the following:

  1. Resize and move around the Fuze app to place it where it's most convenient
  2. Join and run calls and meetings with video on when Fuze is not in focus
  3. Drag and drop files from other apps directly into Fuze chat conversations. We support the following file types to drag and drop:
    • Microsoft Word (doc, docx)
    • Microsoft Powerpoint (ppt, pptx)
    • Microsoft Excel (xls, xlsx)
    • Apple iWorks (pages, numbers, key)
    • Compressed files (zip, rar, arj, tgz)
    • Text files (txt, log)
    • Adobe PDF (pdf)
    • Movie files (mov, MP4)
    • Audio files (mp3, m4a)
    • Image files (png, jpg, gif)
    • Adobe Photoshop (psd, psb, tiff)

Fuze Mobile 6.1

This version of Fuze Mobile introduces the following enhancements and new features:  

  • Simplified search experience
  • Improved display of reactions in chat
  • New display of prefix caller ID in ringing screen to distinguish which extension is the recipient of an inbound call
  • Option to skip the sign out warning dialog
  • General fixes and improvements

Fuze Mobile 6.1 will be available in the Apple App Store and the Google Playstore the week of April 13.

Fuze Mobile 6.0

Fuze Mobile 6.0 introduces the following enhancements and new features:  

Reactions - See a message you like and want to respond in a way words can’t express? Now you can react to messages with emojis. Add a quick ‘thumbs up’, pile on to other reactions, or choose your own. (Please note that currently, some functionality is limited in iOS).

Fuze Mobile 5.16

Fuze Mobile 5.16 introduces the following new feature:

Dark ModeFuze Mobile now supports dark mode on both iOS and Android. If dark mode is enabled in your phone settings, Fuze appears in dark mode.

Improved Meeting participants list

Managing meetings from Fuze Mobile is now easier than ever with an improved meeting participant list.

Fuze Mobile 5.14

Fuze Mobile 5.14 introduces the following new feature:

Ability to select a line when calling

Similar to Fuze Desktop, if you have multiple Fuze phone lines, you can now select the number you call from when placing a call in Fuze Mobile.

Call history and Voicemails relocated to Calling tab

Call history and voicemails can now be found under the Calling tab.


October 2019

Fuze Mobile 5.12

Fuze Mobile 5.12 introduces the following new feature:

Screen share in Meetings
If you are attending a meeting using Fuze Mobile from your phone or tablet, you can now share your screen to show content from your mobile device, just like sharing your computer screen in Fuze Desktop. Simply open the More menu while in the meeting, tap Share Screen, and switch to the app you want to share.

Fuze Mobile 5.11

Fuze Mobile 5.11 introduces the following new features:

Support for MMS
If your cellular provider supportsMultimedia Messaging Service (MMS), you can now send and receive multimedia content (e.g. pictures, video, and audio) over MMS. Similar to SMS, this feature is only available for North American users (the country code for your Fuze phone number must be +1).

Additional Improvements

In addition to the enhancements described above, we’ve also introduced the following new features: 

  • Support for external USB cameras when you join a meeting using Fuze Mobile on Android tablets.
  • Preliminary support for iOS and iPadOS 13.

Fuze Mobile 5.10

Fuze Mobile 5.10 introduces the following new features: 

Quiet Mode 

Quiet Mode is a new status that gives you the ability to silence all notifications from Fuze, including calls, during periods when you need to unplug.

You can configure Fuze to go into Quiet Mode during specific hours each day, as well as specific days of the week. You can also set a custom Quiet Mode message for people who reach out while you're away.

As of 5.10, you can set Quiet Mode using Fuze Mobile on your smartphone or tablet, and your Quiet Mode status and custom message can be viewed by other people using Fuze Mobile, Desktop, and Web. We'll be bringing Quiet Mode configuration to Desktop and Web in the near future. 

Additionally, when you're in Quiet Mode, your status is displayed to people on earlier versions of Fuze in the following ways: 

  • Fuze Mobile 5.9 (iOS): Presence icon and status appear as Offline 
  • Fuze Mobile 5.9 (Android): Presence icon and status appear as Offline
  • Desktop 5.7: Presence icon appears as Offline, and Status is "FUZELOC_presence_quiet" 
  • Desktop 5.9 presence icon appears as Offline, and Status is "In Quiet Mode"

Fuze Mobile 5.9

Fuze Mobile 5.9 introduces the following new features: 

Redesigned Settings

We’ve redesigned the Settings screens in Fuze Mobile to help you more easily understand and configure Fuze Mobile to suit your needs. Additionally, we’ve added new Audio settings to the Meetings section that enable you to set the audio configuration that is used when you join meetings.

Additionally, we've expanded the Meetings settings to help you join with your audio switched off to, for example, avoid acoustic feedback if you are near other devices that are also in the meeting.

Google Drive and Microsoft OneDrive file previews

You can now view previews in Chat conversations of files shared from both Microsoft OneDrive and Google Drive.

You can view previews for Google Drive files shared from Fuze Desktop, but at this time you cannot view previews for Google Drive files shared via Fuze Mobile. 

To enable this feature for one or both cloud drives, switch on the associated setting in the Connected Accounts section of the Settings screen, and log in to your account when prompted.

Additional Improvements

In addition to the enhancements described above, we've also introduced the following improvements:
• When sharing content in meetings, Fuze Mobile now automatically switches your Status to Do Not Disturb (DND). 
• Keyword matches are now highlighted in Chat search results.
• Fuze Mobile now defaults SMS to the first Mobile phone number on a contact profile.
• Notifications are now generated if you miss a video call.

Fuze Mobile 5.8

Fuze Mobile 5.8 introduces the following new features:

Launch Meetings in Fuze Rooms Directly from your Mobile Device

If your organization uses Fuze Rooms, you can now easily launch a meeting in any Room that isnt presently in use.

If you want to launch an upcoming meeting in a Room, simply navigate to the More options menu in your Meetings list, and tap Launch in Room to access a list of Rooms in which to launch your meeting.

If you're already in a meeting, you can also open the Meeting menu, and tap Launch in Room to select a Room in which to launch the meeting.

Text Formatting Guide and Actions

In our last release of Fuze Mobile, we introduced the ability to format text in Chat. In this release we've introduced two more improvements to help make formatting even easier:

  • View an in-app guide that shows how to format text. This guide appears above the message field as you type, and automatically hides when you are not typing a message. 
     
  • Apply formatting to selected words or phrases via the More Options section of the long press menu.

May 2019

Fuze Mobile 5.7

Fuze Mobile 5.7 introduces the following new features:

Simplified Sign in

We’ve simplified the Fuze Mobile sign in workflow so that if you skip the Carrier Calling and VoIP Calling setup screens when signing in to Fuze Mobile, those screens are automatically bypassed during subsequent sign-ins, no matter what mobile device you’re using. Carrier and VoIP Call settings are available in the Calls section of the Settings screen any time you need them.

Attended Transfers

We've introduced the ability to perform attended transfers. This type of transfer automatically places the current caller on hold while you ring the intended recipient. This lets you to speak with to the intended recipient before completing the transfer.

Screen Share while on a Call

If you’re on a call with another Fuze user at your organization, you can now share your screen at any time during the call.

Unifying calls with screen sharing allows you to seamlessly enrich your calls without needing to switch to a meeting.

Text Formatting in Chat

Want to emphasize an important point or make it clearer when you’ve 

edited changed a message? Now you can! We’ve added text formatting in Fuze Mobile. Long press a word in any Chat message to access formatting options, including bold, italics, strikethrough, quoting, and preformatted/code.

Mark as Unread

Received a message that you want to remember to review later? You can now mark it as unread by long pressing it within your Chat conversation, and tapping Mark unread.

Search your own messages in Chat

Looking for a message you sent? Simply type “from:me”, followed by the key word(s) you want to find to search your own messages in Chat.

Mobile version of Fuze Rooms experience for tablets

If your organization uses Fuze Rooms, a full featured mobile version designed specifically for tablets is now available for iOS and Android.


March 2019

Fuze Mobile 5.5

You can now search your entire message history, and you can search for files. Additionally, you can search for messages from specific people or groups, and you can filter search results by sender, group conversation, and date.


February 2019

Fuze Mobile 5.4

  • Ability to Turn On Video while on a Call with another Fuze user at your organization. 
  • Ability to View Screenshare while on a Call with another Fuze user at your organization, initiated from Fuze Desktop or Web.

Additional Improvements

  • You now receive notifications of Fuze activity that occurs while you are in a no-network zone or airplane mode, once your data connection is restored.
  • After upgrading to a new version of Fuze Mobile, you no longer need to sign out and then back in to be able view contact search results.

December 2018

Fuze Mobile 5.3

  • Ability to look up all contacts from the directory service that is affiliated with Google or Office 365 accounts you connect to Fuze.
  • Additional performance and stability improvements.

November 2018

Fuze Mobile 5.2

  • Video calls now ring recipients, similar to regular phone calls. A 'ringing' screen will appear when you click the video call button in a one-on-one or group conversation.
  • Performance improvements for quicker loading of chat history.
  • Preview thumbnails of images, files, URL links, and gifs in a conversation prior to sending.
